The workshop

Made by hand, sixty jars at a time.

Two of us mix, pour and label everything in the room behind our shop, from oils cold-pressed in Belgium and France and herbs grown in East Flanders.

How we make it

An evening, in three steps.

All rituals
  1. 1. Cleanse

Warm a spoon of cleansing balm in dry hands, work it over the face, then take it off with a warm, wet cloth.

  2. 2. Oil

Press three or four drops of face oil into skin that is still a little damp. It sinks in within a minute.

  3. 3. Hands

A pea of hand cream, last thing before bed, when there is nothing left to wash off.

Dried calendula flowers steeping in a jar of golden oil

From the journal

Why our calendula steeps for six weeks.

Dried flowers from a farm near Oudenaarde, sunflower oil, and a dark shelf. What happens in the jar, and why we do not hurry it.
