1
The cut
A haircut or skin fade. It starts with a talk and ends with a hot-foam neck shave and the mirror at the back.
-
2
The towel and the razor
Two hot towels, two passes with a fresh blade, a cold towel and balm. Or a beard shape, if you're keeping it.
-
3
The wash
Shampoo and a scalp rub at the basin, product to finish, and out the door.
“A good cut looks like nothing happened, and still looks that way three weeks later.”
Marco Reyes, founder and barber
Marco opened the shop in an old shoe-repair on Milwaukee Avenue with two chairs, a second-hand register and the brick wall he found behind the plaster.
Twelve years on there are three chairs and three barbers, and most of the people in them have been coming since the first year. We still sweep up ourselves.

Right the first time
I tried five shops after moving here. Ana got the blend right on the first visit and remembered it on the next.

On time, every time
I book the 9 am slot on Saturdays. In two years I have never waited more than five minutes.

Worth it for the shave
Hot towel, two passes with the razor, a cold towel, no rash. Forty-five minutes that felt like ten.

Good with kids
My son hates haircuts. Marco talked baseball with him the whole time, and on the way out he asked when he could come back.
