Hedge & Rose

Gardens

Gardens we have made, and how they grew.

Private gardens across the north Cotswolds, from a single border to two acres. Most owners let us come back to photograph them each year.

A walled garden with a stone path, lavender, roses and an oak

The walled garden

An old kitchen garden behind a house in Chipping Campden, gone to grass. We kept the oak and the walls, laid a York stone path to it and planted lavender, white roses and box on either side.

The lavender walk

A path between yew hedges near Stow-on-the-Wold, planted to look as good in November as in June: lavender cut into mounds, and species roses left for their hips.
