Full truckload

A whole trailer for one customer, loaded at your dock and driven straight to the delivery address with no stops in between.

What’s included
A 13.6-metre curtainsider or box trailer for up to 26 pallets or 24 tonnes, strapping by the driver, a booked delivery slot and the signed note online.
Coverage
Mainland Britain, from Cornwall to Inverness.
Lead time
Collected the same day when booked by 10:00, otherwise the next working day.
Rate basis
Per load, by loaded miles: from £1.85 a mile, minimum £280.

Container haulage

Twenty and forty-foot boxes from the deep-sea ports on our own skeletal trailers, delivered to your yard and the empty taken back.

What’s included
The port slot booking, a check that the box is released, two hours to unload at your site, and the empty return.
Coverage
Felixstowe, Southampton, London Gateway and Liverpool, to anywhere within 200 miles of Leicester.
Lead time
24 hours from customs release, 48 in the weeks before Christmas.
Rate basis
Per box, fuel included: Felixstowe to Leicester from £540 for a forty-foot.

Last-mile delivery

Rigid trucks with tail-lifts for shops, building sites and homes, where an artic cannot turn or there is no forklift.

What’s included
A one-hour window texted to the receiver, a tail-lift and pump truck, and a second crew member for heavy items on request.
Coverage
Within 60 miles of a depot: Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.
Lead time
Next working day when booked by 16:00.
Rate basis
Per drop: £38 for the first pallet within 20 miles, £14 for each one after.

Warehousing

Racked pallet storage, pick and pack and cross-docking in our three depots, so stock can sit next to the trucks that move it.

What’s included
A stock report by 07:00 each day, picking to order, sprinklers and CCTV around the clock, and 800 chilled spaces at Derby.
Coverage
18,000 pallet spaces in Leicester, Derby and Northampton.
Lead time
Booked in the same day when the trailer arrives by 14:00.
Rate basis
£3.20 a pallet a week, £4.50 in and £4.50 out, picking from 45p a line.

Same-day express

One van or rigid sent the moment you call, for the part a production line is waiting for or the order that missed last night’s run.

What’s included
A driver on the way within the hour, a live tracking link, and delivery at any hour of the day or night.
Coverage
Anywhere in mainland Britain, collected within 80 miles of a depot.
Lead time
Collected within two hours. Booked by 15:00, delivered the same day anywhere in England.
Rate basis
£1.40 a mile for a van, £2.10 for a rigid, minimum £95.

Every load is insured for goods in transit up to £50,000 under the RHA Conditions of Carriage. Ask for higher cover when you book. Prices exclude VAT.

How a shipment runs

Four steps, one person to call at each of them.

  1. 01

    Quote

    Send the postcodes, the pallets or weight and a date. A planner replies with a fixed price within the working hour.

  2. 02

    Book

    Accept by email and we book the delivery slot with the receiver. You get a job number and the planner’s direct line.

  3. 03

    Collect

    The driver arrives in a two-hour window, counts and photographs the load, and seals the trailer before leaving your site.

  4. 04

    Deliver and invoice

    The receiver signs on the driver’s handset. The invoice follows at the end of the week, on 30-day terms for account customers.
