Fairpage vs Sanity
A content platform, or one website

Stay on Sanity when its content feeds several front ends and your developers want to shape the editing app in code. Move to Fairpage when it is one website: the schema and pages sit in one folder your coding agent writes, and editors change the page itself, for $99 a year.

Stay, or move

Stay on

Sanity

$15a seat a month, Growth

  • Content feeds several front ends

One dataset serves sites, apps and anything that can call its APIs.

  • Developers want the editing app in code

Studio is a React app: its forms, tools and plugins are yours to change.

  • You publish in many languages

Every plan has unlimited locales; translating whole documents does not count against its attribute limit.

  • Several people edit one document at once

Studio shows who is in a document, and they edit it at the same time.

Move to

Fairpage

$99a year, no charge per person

  • It is one website

There is no front end to build, host and keep up to date beside the CMS.

  • Editors should work on the page

Selecting a part of the page is the way in, with no preview to wire.

  • Seats should not add up

Growth is $15 a seat a month. Plus is $99 a year for up to 100 people.

  • Your coding agent writes it

Schema and pages are files in one folder, pushed to a draft.

What changes when you move

Visual editing without the wiring

Sanity’s Presentation tool shows the page beside the Studio once a developer has added it to the Studio, a draft-mode endpoint and stega encoding to the front end, and the front end’s origin to CORS, or started from Sanity’s Next.js template, which has them.

On Fairpage the editor opens the draft site. Select a part of a page to change its text, replace a picture, or ask for a change in words. Nothing is set up first, and a change the AI makes waits in the draft until it is published.

Room to grow, with no bandwidth or API meter

Sanity’s Growth plan bills $15 a seat a month, holds 25,000 documents, and past its quotas charges by the request and the gigabyte; more documents and datasets are add-ons. Its Free plan has no overages: it stops at its limits.

Plus holds 100,000 entries and 100 people at no charge per seat, and its pages are served as pages, about 500,000 views a month, so nothing is counted by the request or sold by the gigabyte.

Both are code, in one place or two

Sanity and Fairpage both keep the content model in a file. On Sanity it shapes the Studio, and the front end, a second program, fetches the content with GROQ.

On Fairpage the same file shapes Content, and the page reads the rows in its own markup as content.perfumes. Your agent changes both in one push.

Moving from Sanity

Your site stays online until you move the domain.

  1. 1

    Export the dataset

The Sanity CLI writes the documents and their files to one archive.

  2. 2

    Let your agent build it

It turns the schema into collections, writes the pages, and sends the documents with fairpage rows push.

  3. 3

    Point your domain

Add it in the site’s settings and set the records Fairpage shows. Then invite the editors.
