Design in Claude
Hand over a site

You explore in Claude Design and build in Claude Code. Fairpage hosts the site, gives it a CMS and an editor your client can’t break the design with. Hand it over, or keep it on retainer.

  1. Claude Design

Explore the direction, then send its handoff bundle to Claude Code.

  2. Claude Code

Builds the pages from your design.

  3. Fairpage

Publish. Hosting, forms, content and the domain are included.

  4. Your client

Runs it inside your design, on their plan or yours.

The agent builds the site
Then what?

A coding agent gets you from a design to working pages in an afternoon. What it hands you is a folder, and nobody else can run a folder.

You ask
Claude runs the rest

Fairpage’s commands are for your agent. You say what you want in Claude Code, and it fetches the site, checks it and publishes it.

  1. 01

    Ask

Tell Claude Code which site to work on and what to build, from a Claude Design bundle or in your own words.

  2. 02

    Build

It fetches the site, reads how Fairpage works and builds the pages with your layouts, fonts and CSS.

  3. 03

    Check

It previews and checks every page before publishing, and fixes what it finds before you see it.

  4. 04

    Hand over

Ask it to invite your client as owner, or keep the site and invite them to edit.

How Claude Code connects to Fairpage

Getting started

Setting up is one message to Claude Code. It installs the Fairpage CLI, the small program it uses to reach your sites, and signs you in.

  1. 1Paste the message into Claude Code.
  2. 2Your browser opens with a code. Check it and approve.
  3. 3Ask for the site you designed.
Paste into Claude Code

Install the Fairpage CLI from https://fairpage.co/install.sh, sign me in, and start a new site called Rye & Salt.

Or run it in a terminal yourself

# macOS and Linux

curl -fsSL https://fairpage.co/install.sh | sh

# Windows

powershell -c "irm https://fairpage.co/install.ps1 | iex"

Fairpage opens by invitation, so signing in works once yours arrives.

A CMS shaped like the business

Tell your agent what the business keeps changing: loaves with prices and bake days, classes with teachers and times. It sets up a form for each, with the business’s own words and nothing it doesn’t use.

Forms that save entries
A booking or an enquiry lands in Content as a draft entry, and in the owner’s inbox.
Entries from a spreadsheet
Hand your agent a price list or a spreadsheet, and it loads the rows as entries.
Edited from the page
Clicking a loaf on the menu opens its entry. Add a field later, and existing entries keep their content.

They edit
The design holds

The editor and its AI only use the colours, fonts, sizes and spacing you set. A request outside them is refused in plain words, with the closest thing that fits, and costs nothing.

Hand it over, or keep it on retainer

Plans are per site. Hand the site over and your client pays through their own checkout, with VAT handled. Keep them on a retainer and you stay the owner: the plan is yours to pay, and they edit as a member.

  • Online for 14 days from the first publish, before anyone pays
  • One plan per site, with no seats for the client’s staff
  • The owner can take the whole site as files at any time

A year after you hand it over

Prices, photos, opening hours and new pages are your client’s to change, without emailing you. You come back when the site needs your agent, and your pushes land beside their edits in one history.

Questions

Does it work with Claude Design?

Yes. Claude Design packs a finished design as a handoff bundle for Claude Code. Put it in the site’s folder and ask your agent to build the pages from it, in Fairpage’s markup.

Which coding agents does it work with?

Any agent that reads an AGENTS.md: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, OpenCode and others. fairpage clone writes one into the site’s folder, and the agent looks up the rest with fairpage docs.

What can my agent build?

Everything in the site’s folder: pages, layouts, components, stylesheets, the styleguide and the collections, as HTML and Tailwind. Scripts of your own run too. Server code is not part of Plus.

How do I hand a site to a client?

Build it on Plus, then fairpage invite them with --owner. When they accept, the site is theirs: they pay for the plan and keep it up to date. On Lite the design stays as you built it; on Plus you stay on the site.

Can I keep the client on a retainer?

Yes. Stay the site’s owner and pay its plan yourself, then invite your client to edit. Their edits work the same, and the bill stays with you. Hand it over later with fairpage invite --owner, and the client pays from the next year.

What happens to their edits when I push?

They live in the site, beside your pushes. fairpage pull brings them into your folder before you work, and every push and edit is in the same history, where each can be undone.

Can I move a client’s site from Webflow, Framer or WordPress?

fairpage import copies any site into the folder for your agent to rebuild, and fairpage compare lists every old address whose title, text, links or images differ.

What if the client stops paying?

The site stays up for 14 days, with a reminder. Then editing locks and the site stays up for 30 more days. Nothing is deleted for a year.
