AI
What the AI bar can change, and what AI credits pay for.
- The AI bar is at the bottom of the editor, Content and the site's Overview: a thin bar that opens when you point at it, click it or press ⌘K. One conversation is kept for each site until New conversation. It answers questions about Fairpage, your plan, billing and domains, and about the site's entries, except what visitors sent through a form and fields only the owners see.
- In the editor it changes the page you are on. Select an element and press AI on its toolbar, and the request is about that element: it shows as a chip in the bar, which × takes out. A change starts a draft, so the live site gets it with the next Publish, and Undo takes it back. A picture can go with a request.
- In Content it adds, changes or removes entries, outside forms. It starts a draft first, so the live site gets its changes with the next Publish, and Discard drops them. Pages, pictures and the design are changed from the editor's bar.
- Asked to replace the site's pictures, it lists every picture with a new one written for your business and its price. Untick those to keep, and it makes the rest, one at a time, as one change Undo takes back.
- On Plus and above, it also sets up what Content holds. Asked to keep events, products or a team in Content, it adds them there with the fields they need, moves the entries the page shows, and changes the page to show them from Content. Until Publish, Undo or Discard takes it back; Publish says what it makes permanent, since what Content holds is never deleted, only renamed or hidden. Lite has no Content of its own beyond its form.
- It does not change the site's domain, its plan or its members, which are changed in the account. On Lite it does not change the design system either; on Plus it may.
- AI credits pay for what you ask the AI: an answer, a change to the page, entries it changes, a suggested title, description or picture description, and a picture it makes. Each costs what the model charged, a change about 5 credits, a picture 10 to 30, an answer a credit or two. A request that fails or is stopped costs only the pictures it made. With no credits left the bar takes no requests until the owner adds more. The balance is in the AI bar, under the ring at the top of its conversation, and on the site's billing page; a paid year adds the plan's credits, which end with the year, and the owner can buy more, which carry over: 4,000 for $10, 8,000 for $20 or 20,000 for $50.
