Domains
Connecting the site's own address and the DNS records it needs.
- Domains adds the site's own address, up to 5 a site, once it has a plan. The page names the DNS provider when it can tell, links to its DNS settings and lists the records to add there: a CNAME to the target it shows (on the bare domain, what that provider calls it there, ALIAS or ANAME at some), and a TXT record that proves the domain is the site's.
- Where the provider answers for the bare domain with addresses (an ALIAS or ANAME: Porkbun, Gandi, Name.com, Vercel and Hostinger do), Cloudflare asks for one more TXT record, which the page lists once the first is found. Records usually show within minutes; Check now looks again. A provider that cannot point the bare domain anywhere is told to use www.
- Make main address picks the address the others send visitors to. The owners get an email when a domain connects.
